SIRAP "Water Puglia Regional Information System" (on the Web "ACQUAPUGLIA" www.acquapuglia.it) is the new web service to the citizen made ​​in WP4 "Development Of Water And-E-Services & Tools" part of the project WAS4D "saving Water for Development" aimed at encouraging the development of actions for conservation and protection of water resources, in line with the objectives of Axis 3 Measure 3.2 of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Greece Italy from 2007 to 2013.

The project was made ​​possible thanks to the partnership between the Province of Brindisi, Municipality of Bari, Apulia region, Puglia ATO, University of Ioannina, Patras Municiapal Enterprice for Planning & Development SA and Enterprice Development of Achaia Prefecture.

Defining aspect of ACQUAPUGLIA is represented by the services of Network and Communication, in fact, the portal is aimed at creating a community "Waternet" in which to meet users (professional and otherwise) of water resources for more effective exchange and sharing of information on the world of water.

The service was founded by the evolution of the "Sportello Unico Informatico dell'Acqua" created by the Province of Brindisi to provide the citizen with all the information concerning the authorization system of water resources as a whole.

If in the local area, expertise in the field of water management are separate from the portal today ACQUAPUGLIA catalyze the information related to the management and use of water, simplifying data access authorization processes, procedures, costs, forms, skills, turn to offices and contractual information.

This simplification will benefit citizens, business entities themselves but also of water management and public bodies that will SIRAP in a shared information system, for better and effective management.

The service, in fact, is a place of interaction and sharing of information, documents, policies, projects between entities through an intranet dedicated to them, contributing to the consolidation of the "culture of togetherness and cooperation."

The portal SIRAP uses all the web 2.0 solutions to assist in the dissemination of culture and respect water as a common good to be respected and protected. It integrates all the tools of communication, from social networks to thematic forums, from the newsletter to the polls in order to create a Water-Net community that shares news, projects, opportunities, best practices, in the name of saving, conservation and equitable management of our precious natural resource: water.

Brief description of project:
The Water Saving Project for Development in line with the objectives of Axis 3 Measure 3.2 of the European Programme of cooperation between Greece and Italy from 2007 to 2013 is intended to promote the development of actions for saving and protection of water resources.
Within the framework thus defined, the main expected results of the project are the following objectives:

     Construction of a water balance in relation to existing resources and related needs with the development of a Geographic Information System;
     Creation of a "Plan for the sustainable use of transboundary water resources" as a result of the participatory stakeholder;
     New on-line services and use of social networks for matters relating to water resources; (portal object ACQUAPUGLIA);
     Campaigns and actions for water conservation, such as the distribution of kits for flow regulation
